Lagos schools close early Thursday amid security threat
Several schools across Lagos were forced to close earlier than scheduled on Thursday, following reports of threats that raised fears for the safety of students and staff.
Odinaka Mbonu, a consultant with Corona School disclosed that the school had to closed earlier than scheduled on Thursday because some parents brought report of a security threat to schools.
“The school has decided to closed early today and tomorrow due to a security threat received.
“Though it was not directed to Corona School, we had to close early as a preventive measure to guide against any eventuality,” he said.
However, Mbonu said the do not have clear picture of the nature and source of the threat, but does not want to take chances, hence, the decision to shut down early today.
